Seven Stars All-Comers Jam
Sunday, April 21st
4PM+ (until about 9)
A free, inclusive and relaxed, all ages and levels welcome New England repertoire tunes jam (Scottish, French Canadian, Irish, Cape Breton, Scandi etc.) in a democratic, sit-in style. We will go around the circle to allow each person to start a tune/small set or pass on their turn and all folks are welcome to play and work on picking up tunes by ear with each offering. Dancers and listeners are very
welcome as well!
Fiddles, mandolins, cellos, guitars, banjos, flutes, accordions, harmonicas, percussion etc… come enjoy a laid-back time of forming a new community music gathering.
We encourage folks to bring goodies to share for our food table in the main hall upstairs where we will be playing.
Feel free to stop by for as little or as long as you like! RSVPs appreciated to gauge the numbers, but not required. Questions, comments, concerns, philosophical musings? Please don’t hesitate to contact me:

Yasi, Oliver, and Louli Zeichner are three siblings who have grown up in the hills of central Vermont. They play traditional Irish music, and Old-Time/Appalachian music – with Louli on 4 and 5 string banjos and Celtic harp, Oliver on the penny whistle and the uilleann pipes, and Yasi on the fiddle. When they first began playing traditional music, the Zeichners didn’t intend to become a family band. However, in 2012, they became involved with Young Tradition VT (YTV), a non-profit organization providing opportunities for young people in the state to learn and perform traditional music. Through YTV, the Zeichner Trio began to play music at different festivals and benefit events across Vermont.

An introduction to ballroom and theatrical
dance of late-17th-century and early-18th-century France (“Baroque dance”). Participants will learn some basic steps and step-sequences used in bourrées, menuets, gavottes, and other dances, and will explore how these steps relate to music of the period. They will then use these steps as they learn a Baroque ballroom dance, reconstructed from period notation.
This workshop is intended for dancers and musicians who would like to be initiated to the baroque dance style and technique. Wear comfortable clothing and flexible shoes.
